Breathtaking bird’s-eye views of the Great Smoky Mountains and the surrounding area provide an incredible photo opportunity. Experience the romance and adventure of flying in an open cockpit Biplane with a modern day Barnstormer. Breathtaking bird’s eye view of the Great Smoky Mountains and the surrounding area provide an incredible photo opportunity. Flights start with a hop around Sevierville that lasts about 8 minutes to get a taste of what flying in a biplane is all about. The 15 minute Barnstormer flight will go out over Pigeon Forge, around the foothills and pass by Dollywood. The Ultimate Sight Seeing Tour is a 30 minute flight that will fly over scenic Douglas Lake, along the French Broad River and then follow the Parkway to Pigeon Forge. The airplane is a true vintage 1927 open cockpit Biplane, lovingly restored to “like new” condition. There have been many upgrades to bring it up to modern standards and it is FAA certified. All ages welcome and two can fly for the price of one, so bring a friend and share the fun!
Whenever you come across an airplane such as this you will often hear it said, “If only this airplane could talk, what a tale it would have to tell”. In more ways than one this airplane can talk. First through it’s records and logbooks. Second in the memories of those who have experienced flying in it. It really is a time machine that takes you back to the Golden Age of Aviation. Where you can touch the fabric that holds you aloft, smell the oil and hear the roar of a radial engine as you fly with the wind blowing through your hair. Unlike an aircraft in a museum, roped off from the public, you can climb aboard this airplane and experience what it was like to be a Barnstormer from a bygone era!
